NEW WORK ⭐ Building a gaming future for Indonesia with Google Play
Indonesia is one of the largest and fastest growing gaming markets globally, and Google Play is committed to bridge the skills gap with in-demand and high-tech digital skill development and improve job prospects for thousands of young Indonesians in the game and developer industry.
To foster the local ecosystem, the Indonesian government has created a draft Presidential decree that outlines a gaming roadmap. As part of that, this Play x Unity Gaming Developer program aligns closely with the government mandate to foster 3,000 new gaming industry talents over the next few years. In partnership with Unity, Google Play provides free live and on-demand Unity Certification training to university students and professionals in Indonesia.
The Ask
Our brief was to get Key Opinion Formers in Indonesia who are invested in the growth of the local game development industry to see that Google champions this government priority by demonstrating how it up-skills talent for the country’s gaming future.
The Work
Through our research, we landed on an amazing profile, Risky Firmansyah, a 34-year-old full-time civil servant with a passion for game development. The outcome was light-hearted, nostalgic film blending live-action and 8-bit styles, sharing Risky’s journey and how Play x Unity transformed his gaming passion into a creative pursuit.
