Purpose of role:

As Account Director, your day to day will focus on identifying, generating and nurturing new prospects and opportunities with our existing clients. This involves monitoring and mentoring business growth through quality delivery and solving business challenges. 

You’ll be a strategic partner, a trusted advisor,  to our clients, understanding their brand and business inside out so that you can add true value to their businesses and ours and bringing the right mix of agency capabilities to the forefront in response to briefs.

You will be required to manage day to day client engagements by ensuring regular communications with them are performed with confidence. You will demonstrate curiosity about client business, maintaining a detailed awareness of relevant market developments affecting their sector, as well as relevant trends in the wider advertising and communications industry.

You will also be a partner to the Creative team and work closely with them to deliver outstanding work according to the clients’ expectations. You will be responsible for motivating the internal agency team when driving a project, keeping them energised and positive about the work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overall leadership of group of clients – Developing and implementing strategic growth plans for existing clients and new clients. Leveraging our wide network of untapped contacts. Identify and develop relationships with key budget holding clients across their business at senior levels. Pinpointing their pain points, business challenges and ambitions. Seeking opportunities and developing plans for business growth within our existing accounts. Become their go-to person,  a trusted advisor, and  being a visible and influential member among the client management team;

  • Managing the Business – Delivery of the service proposition to clients and full end-to-end management of the business on individual clients;

  • Proactive Client Development – Immerse yourself in the world of the client. Understand client’s product or service, the market and its consumer in terms of sales, market-share and competitor products to deliver innovative and creative solutions to client briefs;  

  • Marketing and PR: Attends conferences and networking events as a means of networking and looking for new growth opportunities for Across the Pond. Actively seeks and partakes in Across the Pond  PR, Marketing and thought leadership activities. 

  • Stakeholder Partnership - Work collaboratively between ATP and clients at all levels, as needed – use good knowledge of products and services to drive business values, to maintain seamless and consensus delivery for key milestones around the clients’ objectives and culture. Increasing client satisfaction, engagement & retention;

  • Commercial Finance – Understand the larger financial picture and impacts on contribution margins/revenue targets. Working closely with the MD to give more visibility of our new business pipeline. Pro actively finding new ways to contribute to agency and client profitability. Anticipate, address, and advise management on potential client or revenue issues;

  • Project Management – Be the client’s spokesperson to translate client’s vision and articulate needs into business requirements by creating dependable, organised and clear communications at all levels. Interrogating briefs along with the creative team, acting as creative consultant. Leading  on the conversion process, including pricing. Ensure that the team is appropriately resourced for client activities, including for presentations, approvals and production.

Required Skills

  • Film / Video project experience. Used to collaborating with creative and production teams. 

  • Must have keen interest in emerging technologies like Generative AI, Quantum and Robotics.

  • History of working with or for big tech brands is an advantage. 

  • Experienced and enthusiastic about new business generation outside of the existing client base.
