PURPOSE OF ROLE:
As Account Director, your day to day will focus on identifying, generating new prospects and opportunities with our existing clients.
You’ll be a strategic partner and trusted advisor to our clients, understanding their brand and business inside out so that you can add true value to their businesses, and ours, offering the right mix of agency capabilities in response to briefs.
You will be required to manage day-to-day client engagements, ensuring regular communications, and building long term relationships. You will demonstrate curiosity about client business, maintaining a detailed awareness of relevant market developments affecting their sector, as well as relevant trends in the wider advertising and communications industry.
You will proactively engage in new business workstreams, acting as an ambassador for the agency at networking and new business events, and proactively generating initiatives to help build our client base and sales pipeline.
You will also be a partner to the creative team and work closely with them to deliver outstanding work in line with clients’ expectations. You will be responsible for motivating the internal agency team when driving a project, keeping them energised and inspired.
You will be an influential leader, embodying the ATP cultural values.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Overall leadership of multiple clients – Develop and implement strategic growth plans for existing clients and new clients. Leverage our wide network of untapped contacts. Identify and develop relationships with key budget holding clients across their business at senior levels. Analyse their pain-points, business challenges and ambitions. Become their go-to contact and being a visible and influential member of the client management team, increasing client satisfaction, engagement & retention.
Proactive Client Development – Keep abreast of clients’ products or services, their markets and consumers in terms of sales and competitor products, to deliver innovative and creative solutions to client briefs.
Sales and marketing - Offer support to marketing team, giving feedback on marketing plans and building sales initiatives.
Commercial Finance – Understand the larger financial picture and impacts on contribution margins/revenue targets. Working closely with the MD to give more visibility of our new business pipeline. Proactively find new ways to contribute to agency and client profitability. Anticipate, address, and advise management on potential client or revenue issues.
Project Management – Be the client’s spokesperson, translating client’s vision and needs into business requirements, by being reliable, organised and giving clear communication at all levels. Ensure that the team is appropriately resourced for client activities, including for presentations, approvals and production.
